Our team created a digital twin of retail store located in the shopping mall complex using Autodesk Tandem software–reducing missed inspection time by 90% By combining laser scanning, intelligent modeling, and asset element and IoT sensor data in Tandem extended through our mobile app, we empower plant management to monitor assets and make more-informed business decisions. Dawood integrated our native mobile application—built with Flutter, Supabase, and BuildShip—to record equipment inspections. Elements are tagged with QR codes, enabling rapid information access. This allows for data exchange between the mobile app and digital twin using the Tandem API—making it the single source of truth. This allows on-site engineers to access information on the go to complete daily inspections and send inspection data to the digital twin so that management can assess and respond to events in real time. Automated reminders reduce incidents.

Advanced nuclear is challenged to design and construct on short timelines, with smaller budgets and fewer workers. Digitalization can help companies overcome these constraints. Unfortunately, a digital twin (DT) is often presented as a monolith. This results in organizations abandoning DTs as having benefits that are minimal or unrealized in time. Many perceive DTs as too large an undertaking to even begin. However, digitalization isn't a track meet; it's a marathon of incremental milestones. And, like all races, it has a starting line. This session will summarize a journey that Argonne National Laboratory and Implexus Lab made to digitize the Mechanisms Engineering Test Loop (METL), a test facility for advancing sodium fast reactors. Components were designed with Inventor software and assembled in Navisworks software, and AutoCAD software generated construction documents. Integrating with Revit provided a DT foundation. Ultimately, the suite of Autodesk tools enabled the creation of a DT boasting live data visualization within a virtual reality (VR) environment.

Autodesk Informed Design and Data Exchange are the platform technologies we use to connect plant design and construction, with the help of Autodesk Construction Cloud. It's never been so easy to share data and its configurations. Data Exchange makes it very easy to collaborate and share information in integrated factory modeling (IFM) within Autodesk software systems, but also with applications such as Tekla or SolidWorks. Autodesk Construction Cloud helps us store all information centrally and make it available to everyone involved in the project. Informed Design offers the possibility to provide configurations from Inventor software for various types of building equipment in Revit software as configurable families. This ensures that only predefined variants are installed and prevents cost-intensive special solutions. Last year, we talked about the possibilities of the beta versions. Now we would like to take a closer look at the solutions and share experiences from customer projects with you. It's going to be good!

Autodesk Construction Cloud or Fusion Team is used to store product data created with Revit, Autodesk Fusion, Inventor, and other Autodesk CAD authoring tools. The data stored in these cloud systems is often the most important intellectual property, and it's also critical for users who do not have access to Autodesk cloud-based systems. Learn how you can use Autodesk's AEC Data Model API and Manufacturing Data Model API to extract bills of materials (BOMs), product quantities, and other critical metadata, and publish it to enterprise resource planning (ERP)—or other enterprise systems. This hands-on lab will introduce engineers and designers to the world of using CAM to program computer numerical control (CNC) machines and its connection to the design process. Through a series of guided exercises in Autodesk Fusion CAM, you'll gain practical experience in setting up stock material and coordinate systems, choosing tools, defining machining operations (including machining boundaries), simulating the toolpaths, and generating G-code for a CNC milling machine. This session will equip you to better communicate with CAM programmers and optimize your designs for manufacturability.

Creating custom bridge parts ready for modeling transportation projects in InfraWorks software can be challenging for the uninitiated. This class will provide the chance to learn how to create these parts using both the Revit and Inventor methodologies from scratch in a hands-on environment. We will look at the benefits of each method and how each can be incorporated into a transportation project and progressed through the workflow from modeling in InfraWorks to the documentation phase in Revit. These techniques will be worked through in the context of bridge engineering, but they will also be applicable to tunneling.
